DESCRIPTION

Dried mealworms are among the most popular and effective wild bird foods you can offer — particularly during spring and summer when parent birds are feeding nestlings and require an easily digestible, high-protein supplement. Robins in particular become remarkably bold around mealworm feeders, and blackbirds and thrushes are enthusiastic visitors.

These are 100% pure dried mealworms with no additives, preservatives or coatings. They can be offered dry on a bird table or ground tray, or soaked in water for 20–30 minutes to rehydrate them — rehydrated mealworms are even more appealing to birds, particularly robins, and are much better for young chicks.

FEEDING TIP: Offer in a smooth-sided dish on a bird table to prevent birds carrying too many away at once. Soak in water for fledgling season. Avoid offering near nests where a glut of mealworms could be fed exclusively to nestlings — variety is important for healthy chick development.
