DESCRIPTION

Burgess Excel is the UK's number one recommended rabbit food and is endorsed by the Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund (RWAF). It's formulated around the same nutritional principles as the rabbit's natural diet — high fibre, with grass and hay as key components — and presented in a single nugget format that prevents the selective feeding behaviour seen with muesli mixes.

Selective feeding is one of the most common causes of nutritional deficiency in pet rabbits. When given a muesli mix, rabbits characteristically eat the sweet, starchy pieces and leave the rest, resulting in an unbalanced, high-sugar diet that contributes to dental disease, obesity, and gut problems. Excel's nuggets ensure every bite is complete and balanced. Added vitamins, minerals and antioxidants support immune health and overall condition.

FEEDING GUIDE

The vast majority of a rabbit's diet should be unlimited good-quality hay, which supports both digestive health and dental wear. Excel nuggets are a supplement to this — not a replacement. Offer approximately 25–50g per day depending on body size, alongside hay ad lib and a small daily serving of fresh leafy greens. Always provide fresh water.
